Godfrey Lungu popularly known by his stage name Goddy Zambia or simply Goddy is a fast rising Afrobeats singer, rapper, songwriter, and music producer based in Lusaka the capital city of Zambia.
He is currently signed under Favour Music, a subsidiary of HNM.Inc.
Having been brought up in Christian home, he started out his music career in 2012 as a Gospel rapper. He drew his inspiration from both his parents who were both part of the Church choral group.
Goddy first did his music in Nsenga, a local dialect mostly spoken in the Eastern part of Zambia.
He later transitioned to doing music in Chewa another local dialect mostly spoken in the Eastern part of Zambia – a language he learnt from reading the Chewa Bible. He also adds English to his music and is learning some more African Languages.
He released his first Professional single Mwambo with Chef 187 under Favour Music on October 1st, 2020. It recorded some success on Local Radio and it would go on to be the lead single for his debut 23 track album Underrated.
“Underrated” the album dropped on 24th September, 2021 and it featured some of the top Zambian artistes including Chef 187, Slapdee, Macky 2, Bobby East, Stevo, Towela Kaira,
Lanji, Elisha Long, The Kopala Pastor, Tim Thugga, T Low, Jorzi, Neo, Trina South, Scott Zambia, F Jay and many more, the album also featured Nigerian label mate Bhum Boy and USA artist M hall.
The album did well for a debut album and it is currently sitting on 158 Thousand plus streams on Boomplay where Goddy Zambia is the most followed Zambian artist with Over 100 thousand followers on his official artist Boomplay profile.
Underrated gained Goddy some success especially with the release of four(4) Official Music Videos for the the singles Fine Girl Ft. T Low, Ndikangana Nawo Ft. Slapdee, Njala Ft. Lanji and his recent Video It Could’ve Been Better Ft. Neo. With some singles like It Could’ve Been Better cracking Top 3 on Radio Charts and the other songs reaching Top 5 on Radio Charts. The videos are doing well on YouTube Songs off the album have received airplay on both Local and International radio stations where
Goddy has also featured for Interviews especially in neighboring Malawi.
He also has an international feature, a song titled Ondoka with rising Kenyan talent K.O Kenya, a song which was fully done is Swahili, a language commonly spoken in Eastern Africa.
His goals include building a strong African Genre which he calls FriQa Music and use it to represent Zambian Music on the Global market and bring home International Awards. He would
love it if others can join the FriQa movement.
He would also love to do songs in atleast 80% of the different African languages.
